Jen + Dana | Boston MIT Wedding

The day started off warm with a slight breeze, sun shining, and no Boston traffic to be seen. Yup, this was a good day.

I was there as Dana’s old fluffy pup, Bernie, watched over him as he tied his bow tie. He sweetly followed him as Dana buttoned his custom made royal blue and black suit from Alabaster and Chess.  He seemed to approve but did note that his tux was way easier to put on. 🙂

Jen was surrounded by a fun-loving group of ladies as she prepped for the day. Mom whipped out a photo album filled with 4×6’s from their engagement session a couple weeks prior and my heart exploded a little bit. I like those Moms. It was also fun to witness this down-to-earth bride accept help with her shoes, veil, and jewelry. Not used to being the center of attention but accepting it with her quick smiles and easy laughter. Once she zipped up her Amy Kuschel dress (from the BEST: Flair) that fit like a glove and mermaid flared like a boss, it was official, home girl was a *bride*.

And just like that, we were off to the Samberg Conference Center at the newly renovated MIT Sophie Chang building. It boasts a stunning wrap around terrace, glass walls (for making fun reflections) and overlooks an unbeatable city skyline. The modern, architectural setting was set off with luscious white florals and ingenius design by Petals Inc that felt subtle and stunningly romantic at the same time. As the Charles River lazily went about it’s Summertime business, we celebrated these two high above the city and it was spectacular.

Jen and Dana opted for a First Look so they could enjoy Cocktail Hour with their guests. Check out my post here if you’re on the fence about this new fav tradition! Allow me to persuade you (if the photos below don’t). Their First Look was private and allowed them to slow down and spend intentional time together during a day that speeds by WAY too fast. Hand-in-hand they strolled around the terrace easily and, as in life, they brought out the absolute best in each other.

From the loving ceremony to the checkered dance floor, this day was full of belly laughter and bear hugs and I’m so grateful that I was there to document it. If this sets the tone for the remaining weddings of 2017, I’ll be a happy photographer indeed. 🙂

Congrats, Jen + Dana!!! I adore you guys. Here are some of my favorites from your beautiful wedding day:
