When Julia and David mentioned they’d like to meet at Beavertail Point in Jamestown, RI for their engagement photos, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The name doesn’t exactly instill romantic vibes and Google images can only do so much. However, this was where he asked her to marry him so it’s a part of their story and me, being the sucker for love that I am, was happy to oblige them.
Plus, it’s the ocean at sunset and I was armed with a Foret Design Studio bouquet… how could magic NOT happen?
Knowing now what I didn’t know then, I feel like I owe Beavertail a sincere, handwritten apology. Because it’s gorgeous and perfect and delivered so much natural beauty onto us that I can’t imagine shooting anywhere else for the rest of eternity. The Beebs has Beliebers and this spot has turned me into a card-carrying Beleaver. 😛
The waves gently lapped the rocky shore, sun warmed our faces, and an impatient Atlantic breeze whipped Julia’s stunning Free People dress to and fro. “No wonder he proposed here”, I thought to myself with a smile as I took in the impressive peninsula and limitless ocean view. With endless private nooks and crannies carved into the rockbed, they tucked away from prying eyes and curious stares.
Julia and David fit together like a puzzle and shut out the outside world while the ocean whispered congratulations and I had the absolute honor of being invited in.
